In Premiere you can loop the playback by clicking the wrench under the playback window then clicking “Loop.” In Movie Maker just full screen the clip and it will loop. Once I have a clip around a decent time I check to make sure it looks good when it’s looped. I found that these are generally good for keeping your final gif under the 3MB limit but sometimes you still have to cut frames in Photoshop (I’ll explain how more below). For sets with multiple gifs per line I keep the clips under around 3:15 seconds. I like to edit down my video in Adobe Premiere (you can really use any video editing software as long it’s compatible with your video file) into smaller chunks so I don’t have to edit down the frames too much in Photoshop.įor sets with one gif per line I try to keep the clip around 2 seconds long or shorter. I use since it’s logoless and free!įor TV shows and movies I usually download a torrent though you could still use a screen recorder.įor YouTube videos you can download them by adding a “ss” right before the youtube in the url (after the period of the www).

You can use a screen recorder if you have specific parts you want to gif.

This part is dependant on what you’re trying to gif. :DĮDIT: I have a different lighting/coloring method now but this still works for beginners! If you’re confused about anything feel free to message me.

My friend asked me to teach her how to make gifs so I figured I would just post my tutorial (instructions? idk) here and anyone can learn if they want to.
